“Where are we going, Snicket?” Pip asked me.“To the lighthouse,” I said, which reminded me of a book I’d been meaning to read.”

— Lemony Snicket’s When Did You See Her Last?, Chapter 3, p. 63

"If you like stories about strange happenings, allow me to recommend a book about a girl named Amanda, who is either a witch or stepsister or both."

— Lemony Snicket’s When Did You See Her Last?, p.79

I would have told them about a book I was thinking about on the drive. It was a book about a girl named Kit who acquires a reputation for witchcraft. It gets her into a lot of trouble, but she does manage to find someone she can trust. His name is Nathaniel, and he names a ship after her. The ship is called The Witch, but I couldn’t remember the name of the author. I also didn’t want to think about someone who liked this book more than I did, someone whose name was also Kit.

— Lemony Snicket’s When Did You See Her Last?, p.209

A nice tip for any reader who has read When Did you See Her Last? and asked “What’s the name of the book?”.

WOW have I missed doing little quick digital portraits this past week! Here’s a 30 minute ATWQ portrait of Cleo Knight!

What great detail! The hat! The frown! Eyes that say “I’m a brilliant young chemist who drives a Dilemma and eats Schoenberg Cereal every morning”!

I’m kind of obsessed with Lemony Snicket’s All the Wrong Questions at the moment so I doodled Moxie, S. Theodora Markson, and Lemony on my math notes. When Did You See Her Last? is pretty perfect so far.

These math notes belong in a gallery.

Since I recently read "Who Could That Be At This Hour?"  I really wanted a map of Stain’d-by-the-Sea. Since this book is fairly new, I couldn’t find one, so I made one myself!

The map is not the territory, but you can’t fold up Stain’d-by-the-Sea and put it in your glove compartment.
Thanks to Megan, we can. #FanArtFriday
